Hayrides
Beginning in September and continuing until late November, we offer tractor-drawn hayrides. Each hayride lasts about 50 minutes from the scheduled starting time and concludes with a cozy campfire. Perfect for church groups, clubs, or a gang of your friends and family!
THE RIDE
Each wagon holds a maximum of 25 people – no exceptions. We have four wagons so we can accommodate groups as large as 100. When loaded, the tractor will drive along the pasture, and then loop through our woods and past the old Coldwater Cemetery. The ride lasts about 50 minutes if started at your scheduled starting time. If your group arrives late, causing late departure, your ride will be cut short in order for us to stay on schedule for groups booked behind you. We suggest telling your guests to arrive 20 minutes early to ensure you’re able to get going on schedule.
THE CAMPFIRE
Each group will be assigned its own campsite/campfire area. When your hayride is complete, you will be dropped at your designated campsite where a blazing fire will be waiting. There are logs around the fire area for seating or you can bring your own lawn chairs, etc. You may stay at the campfire for up to 2 hours after the completion of your ride. (For Example, if your ride begins at 8:30 and ends at 9:20, you will have until 11:20 at your campfire area.)
FOOD
Feel free to bring your own food or have it catered and we’ll deliver it to your campsite while you’re on your hayride. Each campsite includes two tables and lights. There is also a single outlet at each table if you want to bring a plug-in coffee pot. If you bring marshmallows or hotdogs, you’ll also need to bring your own roasting sticks as those are not supplied. You may also bring whatever beverages you choose to enjoy; however, no underage consumption of alcohol will be permitted.
THE SCHEDULE
We typically book groups on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening during the Hayride Season. Special Group Events or events outside normal weekend schedule are also available through the year. Choose the HAYRIDE PRICING menu to see reduced pricing for weekday evenings in October.
RESERVATIONS
We require a 50% deposit to hold your hayride reservation. We prefer to make your reservation using either a Visa or Master Card. We will, however, hold a date/time for you a few days to allow for the mailing of a check. Please be prompt in sending it because we will only hold that date/time for a few days. Upon receipt of your check, we will send you an e-mail confirmation.
We are often outside working on the farm, so we encourage you to use our Online Reservation System for BOOKING YOUR HAYRIDE. If you choose to call us, please leave a daytime and evening phone number (including area code) so we can return your call. Stating your name and number, slowly and clearly, will enable us to copy it correctly from the answering machine.

CANCELLATION POLICY
The only two reasons we’ve ever canceled a hayride is if it’s raining or just too cold. If it’s raining at the start time, we will cancel the ride and either return your deposit or try to reschedule your hayride, your choice. Canceling a ride because of it being too cold, depends on the wind chill and age of the group. We’ve been doing hayrides since 1959 and usually we’re the first ones to blink. When we blink, you get all of your deposit back. If it’s 20 below zero, we will cancel and refund your deposit. Cold weather can be expected in Missouri in the fall, and dressing appropriately will make your ride enjoyable.
